The cheese from the Azores islands is a very special treat. The islands are lush green and nature reigns here without industrial influence. The cows feed entirely in the lush vegetation, which is reflected in the quality of the milk and therefore the cheese. Made from raw cow's milk, São Jorge cheese is an aged, hard or semi-hard cheese with a yellowish color. The cheese has a spicy taste and is a delicacy.
