Blue, juicy fruits that easily separate from the stone. The fruits are oval, with a beautiful greenish-yellow flesh.
They contain less water than plums and since the stone dissolves particularly well, the fruits are often used for baking fruit cakes.
Plums are rich in vitamins and nutrients: especially vitamins A and E, but also B vitamins, are found in these small fruits. Not only that, but the fruits also provide trace elements and minerals such as potassium, copper, iron, and zinc. They contain less water than plums, and because the pit is particularly easy to remove, the fruits are often used in fruit cakes.
