Black rice, or riso venere in Italian, is a brown rice with a deep black color.
Black rice originally comes from China, where it is known as forbidden rice because its consumption was reserved for emperors in ancient times. Black rice is a food with high nutritional value, rich in fiber and a natural source of iron. During cooking it releases a delicate aroma of dried fruits that accompanies it when tasting.
Average cooking time: 30 to 40 minutes.
