The Porto Cruz 20 Years Aged Tawny is a wine made from red grapes from old vines in the Douro Valley, coming from the vineyards on the banks of the Douro River. This wine is fermented with low mash fermentation. It is a fortified wine made by adding grape brandy. Aged in oak barrels.
A light tawny with brownish reflections. Aroma of nuts (walnuts and roasted almonds) and confit fruits (orange peel), hints of resin and spices (cedar, pepper and curry). Intense but delicate, complex and soft, with a rigorous and balanced finish. An excellent aperitif and the best accompaniment to chocolate desserts and selected ripe cheeses.
