A very high-quality Indian Assam black tea, aromatic, strong, slightly malty and rich in taste.
Origin and name origin:
Assam tea refers to a type of tea from the growing region of the same name in northeast India. Black Assam teas are characterized by a strong, usually malty taste reminiscent of honey. They are very productive and relatively insensitive to hard water. Assam teas are the main component of the well-known East Frisian blends.

    Brew 1 tablespoon of tea with approx. 1/4 liter of boiling water, let it steep for approx. 3 minutes, strain.
    The History of Assam Tea:
    In 1823, wild tea bushes were discovered in Assam. A Scottish traveler observed that members of the Singpho people made tea from the leaves of these bushes. This was particularly remarkable because until then it was assumed that tea only grew in China or Japan.
    At the beginning of 1830, the Calcutta Botanical Garden confirmed that it was a subspecies of the tea bush Camelia sinensis, known from China.
    Tea gardeners and tea seeds were then brought to Assam from China.
    Over time, it became apparent that a cross between Chinese and wild native tea bushes produced the best yields. Today Assam is the largest contiguous tea-growing region in the world.
