What makes coffee so special?

For many people, coffee is much more than just a drink – it's a ritual. Whether in the morning to start the day, as a short break in the afternoon, or as an accompaniment to good conversation: a cup of coffee represents enjoyment, concentration, and togetherness.

Coffee is a natural product with a fascinating variety of aromas. Depending on its origin, roasting, and preparation, the spectrum ranges from chocolatey and nutty to fruity or floral. Whole beans offer the greatest flexibility: you decide on the grind and prepare your coffee exactly the way you like it – fresh and individual.

What makes Portuguese coffee special?

Portuguese coffee is more than just a pick-me-up – it's a cultural treasure. Whether in a pastelaria, a street café, or at home: in Portugal, coffee is a concentrated form of enjoyment . It's usually served as a " bica " or " café " – a small, intense espresso with a fine crema.

Portuguese coffee is typically roasted darker , giving it a strong, full-bodied aroma – ideal for espresso lovers. Blends of Arabica and Robusta beans are also common, resulting in a particularly well-balanced strength and creaminess .
