Summer oranges Valentia-Late / Laranjas valencia, Kg

Note: The Valentia-Late summer oranges are currently ripening on the tree for 13 months. After 2 summers with lots and lots of sun, the peels of the fruits no longer look so beautiful. But inside, there is still a beautiful ripe, juicy fruit.

Depending on the season, there are natural discolorations of the peel, from light yellow to orange to green at the stem ends. Only at low temperatures is the green chlorophyll (leaf green) broken down from the peel.

Variety Description:
The Valentia-Late summer oranges are a juice orange intended for summer. They differ from the well-known Navel oranges in having a higher juice yield and more pulp.
As a result of an exceptionally long ripening period, a more robust segment skin protects the juice contained within.
The segment skin is thicker than that of the well-known Navel oranges, as this variety does not contain juice vesicles within the segments.
While the segment membranes of Navel oranges often tear when divided, these are more stable in summer oranges. This is noticeable when consuming the fruit.
Due to the absence of the wafer-thin juice vesicles that make up the pulp in Navel oranges, you will notice when juicing summer oranges that almost no pulp remains in the juicer. The entire fruit is in the glass as juice!

Good to know:
The Valencia-Late is a late variety that is harvested in summer when many other orange varieties are no longer available. It is therefore the perfect summer treat directly from the tree.
