Cumin adds its characteristic, spicy, warm flavor to dishes from all over the world. Ideal for couscous, curries, tandoori chicken, chili con carne, as well as with cheese or red cabbage. Indispensable in Thai, North African, and Indonesian cuisine, cumin provides authentic spice and aromatic depth.
The essential oil it contains (2.5–6%) with the main component cuminaldehyde as well as a fat content of 10–15% make cumin not only interesting in terms of taste, but also similar in its effect to classic caraway.
