Mate tea (also yerba) was drunk by the natives of South America even before colonization and was referred to as the “green gold of the Indians”. The infusion is yellow-green and, depending on the strength, contains: caffeine, theobromine, chlorophyll, tannic acid, essential oil and vanillin, as well as vitamins A, B1, B2 and C.

    Preparation for tea:
    For a large cup, pour a heaped teaspoon of mate tea with max. 80°C hot water.
    Let it steep for 5-10 minutes. Can be drunk with milk or honey, hot or cold.
