The fruit spreads are made from fresh fruit from our own fruit farm. The recipes were devised by monastery women at a time when gelling agents, preservatives, artificial flavors and colors were unthinkable. To date, the fruit spreads do not contain any colors or preservatives or flavor enhancers. Only ripe fruits and sugar/honey are used.
Over the last two decades, Beirabaga has won many medals and awards in various national competitions for products made from traditional Portuguese fruit.
