Wild garlic has a spicy aroma with a pleasant garlicky note—yet milder and fresher. It's ideal for refining quark, yogurt, pesto, salads, Mediterranean dishes, tomatoes, olive oil, butter, or soups.

A close relative of garlic, leeks, and chives, wild garlic belongs to the onion family. Even in ancient times, it was valued by the Romans as a herba salutaris ("healing herb"). Hildegard of Bingen also praised it as an important health herb.

Wild wild garlic is traditionally harvested in spring—when the young leaves are particularly tender and aromatic. Its sharp, fresh flavor makes it a popular ingredient in spring cooking.
