Summer oranges Valentia-Late / Laranjas valencia, Kg
Summer oranges Valentia-Late / Laranjas valencia, Kg is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Note: The fruits have currently been ripening on the tree for 18 months. After two summers with lots and lots of sun, the fruit peels no longer look so beautiful. But still a nice ripe, juicy fruit inside.
Depending on the season, there are natural discolorations of the shell from light yellow to orange to green on the heads. The green chlorophyll (leaf green) is only broken down from the shell at low temperatures.
Variety description:
The Valentia Late Orange is a juice orange intended for summer. It differs from the well-known navel oranges with more pulp due to their higher juice yield.
As a result of an above-average ripening time, a more robust skin on the segments protects the juice they contain.
The skin of the segments is thicker than that of the well-known navel oranges, as this variety does not contain any juice tubes within the segments.
While the membranes on the segments of navel oranges often tear when divided, they are more stable on summer oranges. This becomes noticeable when eating fruit.
Due to the lack of wafer-thin juice tubes that make up the pulp of navel oranges, you will notice when juicing summer oranges that almost no pulp is left in the juicer. The whole fruit is in the glass as juice!
