Somewhere in the middle of nowhere (N 38°36'6" W 28°1'9"), on the way from Portugal to America, in the middle of the North Atlantic, lies the biosphere reserve. There you'll find the Azores island of São Jorge. The tuna from Santa Catarina is still caught there in the traditional way, using the "salto e vara" method with a rod and reel. This is a very ecological fishing method that protects against overfishing and promotes sustainability, as it prevents bycatch.
