The fruit of the dog rose or dog rose is called a rose hip. The strong, summer-green shrub belongs to the rose family. It grows up to 2 m high and has arching, overhanging branches with plenty of spines.
The rose hips are rich in vitamin C and, depending on the time of harvest, have a pleasantly sour taste. Its uses are very versatile, as tea or as jam.

    Preparation of rosehip tea:
    Pour 4-5 heaped tablespoons of rosehip peels with one liter of boiling water. Steep the rosehip tea for at least ten minutes before drinking it. The fruit is quite resilient. Its vitamin content is not destroyed by cooking and lasts for several hours after scalding.
