To properly store roasted coffee beans, we have put together a few tips for you:
-
Container: Use an airtight glass or ceramic container to store the beans. Make sure the container is clean and dry before adding the beans.
-
Light and Heat: Store beans in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources such as stoves or radiators. Heat and light can affect the taste of the beans.
-
Air: Air is the enemy of freshly roasted coffee beans because they absorb flavors. Always keep the container tightly sealed and airtight and avoid frequent opening.
-
Grind: Grind the beans immediately before infusing to get the best flavor. Ground coffee loses its aroma and freshness more quickly.
-
Shelf life: In Germany it is permitted to specify a minimum shelf life of a maximum of 2 years on coffee beans. However, roasted coffee beans can still be kept for 1-2 years even after the best-before date has passed, if stored correctly.
By applying our tips, you will have the right basis for storing your coffee treasures.
