Santa Catarina's tuna pâtés are made from high-quality tuna caught using the traditional, centuries-old method of pole and line fishing—the only environmentally friendly and sustainable fishing technique.
Each pâté is made entirely by hand, without the use of emulsifiers, sweeteners, preservatives, or other artificial additives. Only fresh, natural ingredients are used in its preparation: parsley, onions, garlic, and peppers are carefully chopped by hand, giving the pâté the authentic, intense flavor of São Jorge.
The quality of Santa Catarina's products has received numerous awards. At the National Food Products Competitions organized by CNEMA and the National Agricultural Fair, the Azores Canning Factory received both a gold and a silver medal in the "Fish Pie" category for its tuna pie with oregano and its spicy tuna pie.
