The orange-gold berry, cultivated in South America, is known for its high nutritional content. Cape gooseberries (Physalis) have a variety of names, such as golden berry, Andean berry, Andean cherry, Aztec berry, or Peruvian cherry, to name just a few. Cape gooseberries are rich in vitamins, including vitamins C and B1, provitamin A, and contain bioflavonoids and iron. Physalis grow on small, herbaceous shrubs that often reach only 0.5–1.5 meters in height. Harvested in the highlands of Peru, Cape gooseberries are picked and sorted by hand, guaranteeing one of the highest quality products. These Cape gooseberries are a pure, natural product, without any additives, sugar, or preservatives.
Cape gooseberries are cleaned in water and gently dried (45°C). This process preserves their natural raw materials and valuable nutrients.
Sweet and sour in taste. Dried physalis are deliciously soft to the bite and have an excellent flavor thanks to their slight acidity and special aroma.
