Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, (N 38 36' 6" W 28 1' 9") on the way from Portugal to America, in the middle of the North Atlantic is the biosphere reserve. There you can find it, the Azores island of São Jorge. The tuna from Santa Catarina is still traditionally caught there with a fishing rod using the “Salto e Vara” method. This is a very ecological fishing method to protect against overfishing and for sustainability as it prevents bycatch.
