When flowers become liquid – Our honey variety

Honigwoche

Honey Week – The sweetest week of the year!

When the scent of spring fills the air and nature awakens, it's time for a special celebration: Honey Week . A week in which we celebrate not only the diversity of honey, but also the wonder of bees, the ancient knowledge of natural products, and sweet indulgence in all its forms.

When we think of honey, many of us think of a golden spread. But honey is much more than that – it's a true natural wonder that captivates with its flavor, variety, and benefits. In keeping with Honey Week, we'd like to show you why honey is so special.

The magic of honey: A small miracle of nature

Every teaspoon of honey is steeped in history and natural power. Bees collect nectar from thousands of flowers, enrich it with enzymes, and then compact and preserve it in honeycombs. This transforms the pure power of the blossoms into a product that has been valued for millennia – as a food, medicine, and delicacy.

Even in ancient cultures, honey was considered food of the gods , a symbol of immortality and fertility. Today we know that honey is also valuable from a nutritional point of view.

Honey – Naturally healthy & beneficial

Honey contains:

  • Natural sugars such as fructose and glucose – quickly available energy
  • Enzymes – good for the body
  • Minerals & trace elements such as potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc
  • Antioxidants – important for the body
  • Pollen & Royal Jelly – true powerhouses of nature

No artificial product can combine this like nature itself.

What makes our honey so special?

Our honey isn't just sweet—it's a true piece of nature. Natural, organic, cold-pressed, and pure —these aren't just buzzwords, they're a lived conviction.

Regional beekeepers in Portugal work in close harmony with the environment. They view honey not as a mass product, but as the result of a collaborative partnership with the bees.

 Sustainable beekeeping :
The bee colonies live exclusively in hives made of natural materials such as wood or straw – without plastics or chemicals. Their homes are located far from cities: in pristine natural landscapes, nature reserves, or on ecologically managed land.

 Respectful Harvest :
During periods of flower scarcity or in winter, bees keep their own honey for natural self-sufficiency. Healthy bees also mean high-quality honey.

Variety of flavors thanks to natural locations :
Portugal's rich biodiversity—even in winter—ensures an extraordinary variety of flowering plants. This results in varieties with complex, regionally typical flavor profiles that are rarely found in any supermarket.

 Cold spun & untreated :
The honey is gently cold-pressed and not heated or filtered, ensuring that all valuable ingredients, enzymes, and aromas are fully preserved.

 Regional & transparent :
Each jar tells a story – of a specific place, of a responsible beekeeper, of healthy bees.

From the beekeeper – not from the assembly line
The people behind this honey are not anonymous producers, but regional beekeepers with heart and responsibility. They work traditionally, with a wealth of knowledge about the needs of bees and the rhythms of nature.

In short :
Our honey is not an industrial product – but an authentic natural experience.
Genuine. Pure. Respectfully produced. And full of character.
