The essence of orange – sun gold for all senses

Orangenwoche

Orange variety: sweet, healthy and simply delicious

When the scent of a freshly sliced orange fills the room, it's more than just a moment—it's a little escape to southern climes. A reminder of warm days, Mediterranean gardens, and sweet idleness under blossoming orange trees. This week, we dedicate our hearts (and our weekly special) entirely to the queen of citrus fruits: the orange .

Navel oranges taste best now – but why?

Spring is the peak season for navel oranges, one of the most popular orange varieties. Now—nearing the end of their harvest season—they've reached full ripeness: sweet, juicy, almost seedless, and with an intense aroma. The cooler ripening in the last few weeks gives them a final burst of freshness, while the sun adds sweetness.
(Don't worry... we'll keep navel oranges for as long as possible, as we leave the fruit on the tree longer to make them even tastier.)

Why we love oranges

The orange is far more than just a vitamin C bomb. It's a way of life. Sweet, juicy, with a hint of tangy freshness – a small miracle of nature that can be enjoyed in so many ways: raw, cooked, pickled, candied, as oil, honey, or jam.
And that's exactly what we're celebrating this week with our "Orange Special."

More than just a fruit:

Did you know that the entire orange—from peel to juice—has many uses? Its peel contains essential oils that are used in the perfume industry and for aromatherapy. The dried leaves and peel are also popular as spices or in teas.
Since our oranges are not preserved, you can use the fruit whole, so even the peel can be used without hesitation.
Here you will also find interesting ideas for using citrus peels .

Our highlights from the weekly offer:

Navel oranges – plump, juicy, and kissed by the sun. Ideal for snacking, juicing, or adding to salads.

Fresh orange juice – pure, refreshing and rich in flavor.

Orange juice powder – perfect for smoothies, baked goods or as a natural flavor.

Dried orange leaves – wonderful for aromatic teas or as a spice.

Finely cut orange peel – ideal for pastries, muesli or as an ingredient in tea.

Orange-stuffed olives – an unusual combination where savory fruit meets citrus freshness. Perfect as tapas or with a cheese platter.

Orange blossom honey – delicately fragrant and aromatic. A spoonful on your breakfast bread and your day can only be good.

Olive oil with orange – fruity and delicate. Ideal for salad dressings, fish, or even baking.
Orange marmalade – homemade with lots of love. Not just for rolls, but also fantastic with cheese or in sauces.

Orange Coconut Sticks – sweet temptation meets exotic lightness. A little piece of vacation for in between.

The orange – a culinary all-rounder

Whether in savory dishes or desserts, oranges bring freshness, color, and a touch of exoticism to the plate. Their peel adds a certain something to baked goods and marinades, while their juice brightens sauces and drinks. And anyone who's ever tried a spoonful of orange blossom honey in their tea knows: there's hardly anything that doesn't get a little better with orange.
